6 Startup Luxury Sustainable Fashion Brands

Les Sublimes

Les Sublimes is a startup, luxury sustainable fashion brand in France.  Launched by Kachen Hong and Alexis Assoignon, this brand is for cool girls who know how to style themselves up. Les Sublimes only uses recycled, natural, and innovative botanical fibers to make their clothing items. The brand is very strict about its sustainable policies as they make sure that little to no harsh chemicals are used, such as pesticides, artificial fertilizers, herbicides, and GMOs. They also make sure that their brand does not use harmful chemicals, dyes, toxins. The Les Sublimes motive is to use fewer natural resources like energy and water, cause less water, air, soil pollution, and discourage deforestation.

Les Sublimes make limited numbers of the item, and these items sell out so fast. They make Breton tops, oversized scarves, pencil skirts, white tees, and shirts. So, as soon as they come out, you have to snap them.

Italic

Italic is such a cool startup that offers luxury items from various luxurious fashion brands like Prada, Burberry, Miu Miu, Celine, Givenchy, and other brands. This startup was started in 2018 and is progressing well. Italic gives shoppers direct access to factories that make products for these luxury brands and sell them at a very reasonable price. To clear out the confusion, Italic offers consumers products made from the same manufacturers with less price tag and without the brand's logo. In an interview, the founder and CEO Jeremy Cai said, "Our goal was to return to the original promise of direct-to-consumer movement, And that was democratizing luxury by getting rid of inflated prices." This startup also focuses on sustainability and ethical practices and help manufacturers to make good money. The annual membership fee is only 120$, which is worth it.

Ilk + Ernie

Ilk + Ernie is an ethical fashion brand based in Brighton. It is the brainchild of Jess McCleave, a Brighton based designer. Her interest is to create a sustainable fashion luxury brand that is loved by everyone. They have a great collection of comfortable, high-end sustainable clothes that you would wear again and again. The brand's vision is to make women look cool without doing any harm to the environment. Ilk + Ernie has collections that have bold detailing and vibrant colors.

The brand began its journey in India as Jess's goal was to help India tackle the mass garbage formed by India's fast-fashion industries by creating her ethical garments. India has one of the world's biggest markets that supplies clothes and fabrics to luxury fashion brands. Most of the material ends in landfills across India, so Jess wanted to make India conscious by introducing sustainable practices.

Amur

Amur is a US-based luxury fashion brand that is very strict about sustainable practices. The brand was founded by Sofia Shannon, who is very conscious of the environment. Her brand name is Amur, which stands for 'A Mindful Use of Resources' clearly tells her main goal of the brand. She has a beautiful collection of clothes for women of all ages. In an interview with DigiDay, Shannon stated that:

"I learned a lot about the fashion industry and how harmful it is for the environment when I first started working in fashion. As a designer, I didn't want to ignore the fact that every choice I made [affected] the environment; I wanted my work to connect with my values. As a consumer, I started buying things differently, everything from beauty products to what I ate. I had a higher consciousness of every decision I made and its consequences, both on the environment and my body."

Study 34
