Staying Stylish in the Metaverse
The Metaverse is a place where our physical and digital worlds collide. It is an entirely new era of technology and gaming. We will not go deep into the technological foundations of the Metaverse and 3D worlds. Instead, the center of this discussion surrounds a brief overview of digital fashion and the fashion sense we may soon adopt in the Metaverse.
Fashion plays a significant role in our everyday life experiences and practices. The same will be said about our existence in the Metaverse in the future. Fashion and technology will continue to collide in 3D worlds and impact consumer markets in the Metaverse. Think of all kinds of digital merchandise like clothing, accessories, sneakers, even makeup you will need for your 3D avatar.
Since its launch, some fashion brands have been early adopters, developing robust digital fashion wardrobes and design studios for the Metaverse. They hope to cash in on an upcoming skyrocketing demand for dematerialized digital fashion NFTs. The digital clothing market will also be an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming NFT fashion designers, influencers, and entrepreneurs to make their mark on the virtual world.
Define Your Style In Metaverse?
There's probably a good chance you will take more style risk and be a little more courageous about your fashion sense in the Metaverse. Soon, you may not feel the need to follow fashion trends in the Metaverse, but instead, discover new digital fashion brands, create your own NFT virtual clothing and blaze your fashion path. And really, that's the point. So you can get hype about grabbing your next virtual outfit out of your digital closets and dressing your avatar for your next immersive experience; hanging out with your avatar friends in a virtual restaurant, lounge, or poolside. After all, many hospitality brands, including Marriot, are currently building their presence in the Metaverse.
More Brands Willing To Enter Metaverse?
Luxury brands and athletic apparel brands seem to be leading the way, for now, in the virtual clothing and gaming space. For example, recently, Louis Vuitton has released Louis The Game. In this NFT game, you travel around the globe trying to collect two hundred collectible candles commemorating the two hundredth anniversary of the founder Louis Vuitton. The digital collection of candles allows you to unlock more levels in the game and learn stories about the brand's history.
Nike has collaborated with Roblox, an online gaming platform, to create a virtual experience called Nikeland. They also recently acquired RTFKT, a virtual shoe, and clothing company that creates digital spaces, furniture, and sneakers.
Under Armour and Stephen Curry collaborated with Gala Games, Animoca, The Sandbox, and Decentraland to launch Genesis Curry Flow NFTs digital sneakers, celebrating Curry's becoming the NBA's all-time three-point shooter.
No one knows how fashion brands will utilize the Metaverse for strategic business strategies or what kind of digital merchandise will be created; creative ideas are in the embryonic stage. But the popularity of virtual clothing and revenue opportunities in the Metaverse is thought to be multiplied manyfold in the next few years; this is because fashion affects everyone, whether physically or digitally. And fashion brands are aware that the Metaverse gives them new and unique opportunities in this industry-wide evolution of digital merchandise.
